At La Svolta we believe mangiare e felicita – eating is happiness! The family kitchen in our Hampton Italian restaurant bring authentic, seasonally driven, regionally inspired fare to Melbourne’s south side. We are famous for our pizza.
The team is lead by Valerio Calabro and Giuseppe ‘Pino’ Russo, Italian natives, best friends and home cooks with a passion for all things cucina Italiana. They ventured to Australia with a vision to bring the fresh flavours of their homeland to the other side of the world.
The result was La Svolta or ‘turning point’ as it is translated.
The La Svolta menu pays homage to all corners of ‘The Boot’, and the passionate people that make La Svolta possible. Recipes and techniques are passed down from our Mammas and Nonnas, Pappas and Nonnos, creating a truly special dining experience. Dishes are made with love and are all prepared in our own kitchens, from our delicious pizza bases to our fresh, handmade pastas, delicious antipasto dishes and sauces to make you swoon.
Proudly, we are one of only a handful of pizzerias in Australia that hold Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) Accreditation, as awarded by the official association in Naples. This means we make pizza the real, Napoli way.
